B.Voc in Industrial Waste Treatment Technology

INTRODUCTION TO DEPARTMENT:

Sevadal Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur has established Department of B. Voc. in which UGC sponsored and RTM Nagpur university affiliated B. Voc. course in ‘Industrial Waste Treatment Technology’ of three years duration has been started from academic session 2018-2019 onwards. The Course curriculum is designed as per the need of different industries tied-up with the course and students can get direct employment in the industries. Course is governed under the guidelines of National Skill Qualification Frame Work (NSQF) that helps to bridge the demand-supply gap for skilled workforce in different industry sectors in India. Department offers skill-oriented and practical based course that aims at imparting practical skills to the students along with theoretical clarity in the subject. Department pays more focus on imparting and emphasizing hands-on practical expertise useful for industry rather than only going for more inclination towards theoretical aspects of the course.

B. Voc. course carried out in the Department aims to educate students about different types of wastes generated by different industries in India, determination of the rate of waste production, their quantum of generation, treatment options applicable for different types of wastes to control environmental pollution. Students are also taught different treatment methods, designing of the efficient treatment protocols for individual wastewater as per the requirement of the industry. These objectives help in the development of skill based manpower at the exit point of course to satisfy the employer’s needs of local, national and international industries, and help students to become a part of the global workforce.
