Department of political science was established in the year 1998. This department runs on grant–in-aid basis. Department has well qualified permanent faculty. Separate departmental cabin with computer facility is available. Well equipped departmental as well as central library is proving beneficial for students.
The department of political science aims at inculcating the democratic and secular values amongst students. It develops the understanding of the political system in India. The basic Principles and Constitutional values like liberty, equality and justice are highlighted to develop their civic sense. We focus on overall development of the students. Through various departmental activities, we put emphasis on the active participation of the students in teaching-learning process. To harness the skill of students, various student centric activities like elocution, debate, quiz, poster making competitions are organized. Students are encouraged to develop their presentation skill through the class room seminars as well as power point presentations. Department also organizes the extension activities like Gender sensitization workshop, etc. It also boosts up the students to go for the career in Competitive examinations, journalism, etc. Overall, department provides the students various opportunities and build their confidence to rise as a responsible citizen of India.
